- Bo
- A god of the Ewe peoples of Benin. He was the protector of persons engaged in war and was linked with a god Khebieso or So who was the lightning. The priests of Bo carried with them on ceremonial occasions a peculiar axe made of brass and also bundles of sticks from four to six feet long painted red and white. As with the ancient Romans the axe was the symbol of thunder and the fasces, or sticks, that of lightning.
